Food addiction is simply being addicted to foods . Food provide nutrients needed by the body for it growth , however for many individuals , food addiction can become as serious as alcoholism ,drug addiction and other forms of addiction .

   EARLY SIGNS OF FOOD ADDICTION.

Here’s a sample of questions that can help determine if you have a food addiction.  Do you:

  • End up eating more than planned when you start eating certain foods?
  • Keep eating certain foods even if you’re no longer hungry?
  • Eat to the point of feeling ill?
  • When certain foods aren’t available, go out of your way to obtain them?
  • You eat certain foods so often or in such large amounts ?
  • You avoid social situations where certain foods are available because of fear of overeating?

       CAUSES OF FOOD ADDICTION.

  • Stress and Emotions – you may become addicted to food if you eat for positive emotions and reduce negative emotions .
  • Foods that are rich in fat and sugar can alter how the brain works. 
  • Skipping breakfast
  • Dieting

Overcoming food  addiction is challenging , it involves following the same way that is used to overcome other types of addictions- — you need a plan and support . You can overcome this if you:

  • Detoxify your body by avoiding fast foods , junk foods and foods with processed sugar🚫
  • Avoid  certain places such as the restaurant  🚫
  • Eat breakfast👍
  • Avoid dieting🚫
  • See a nutritionist👍
  • Eat three meals a day👍
  • Make a plan of what you will eat – draw a menu👍
